Prashanthi Bulletin - November 1st - November 2nd, 2005

November 2nd, 2005

Today is a very important day for the Gujaratis. This day is celebrated as the Gujarati New Year day. Hundreds of devotees have come here from Gujarat to celebrate their New Year in the Divine Presence. In the morning, Swami came out for Darshan at 9.15 a.m. Vedam stopped in a few seconds and a welcome song took over. 'Prema Se Aao Prabhuji....' This was followed by a couple of other classical songs as Swami reached the dais and got down from the car. He lighted the ceremonial lamp amidst loud applause.

The songs were followed by a special programme commemorating the Yatra (journey) of the Sai Chariot from Dakor in Gujarat to Parthi. Since the 78th Birthday of Bhagawan, the Youth of Gujarat have adopted 126 villages wherein they have conducted the SSAD programme - Sri Sathya Sai Avatar Darshan. Representatives from all these villages had come to Parthi to express their gratitude to Bhagawan and to pray to Him to enable their villages to become a temple of peace. The chariot which was placed right at the centre of the Kulwant Hall had three photographs - One of Shirdi Baba, another of Sathya Sai Baba and the third a portrait of Lord Krishna of Dakor.

As the chariot was moved away, the Youth of Gujarat made a presentation. The skit looked into the future and presented the Golden Age that had dawned all around. The main hero was a teacher in the Sathya Sai University who describes the evolution of the Golden Age giving an account of his own struggle through the trying times.

The presentation concluded at 10.35 a.m. Bhajans began along with Prasadam Distribution and at 10.45 a.m. Aarti was given to Bhagawan.

In the evening, Bhagawan came out at 4.00 p.m. and went straight into the Interview Room. Swami came out at 4.45 p.m. and sat down on the dais. The first event was a folk dance from the Dang District of Gujarat by the Youth members. It was very well presented and received appreciation from all. This was followed by a dance by young Balvikas girls to the popular song - Gananaayakaaya Ganadaivataaya......

The main item was a drama by the Balvikas children. The story was about a doctor who seeks fulfillment in his life through service to the needy. However, unable to achieve the same in the hospital where he is currently working, he finally lands up in the Super Specialty Hospital of Bhagawan. Here he finds the fulfillment of his life. It was a very good presentation intertwined with a number of dance sequences to popular songs sung very eloquently.

At 5.35 p.m. Prasadam was distributed to all amidst Bhajans. As all the participants stood in a group in front of the dais, Swami called for the main dancer, a tall young man, and Blessed him with a gold chain. Bhagawan put it around his neck amidst loud applause. Swami Blessed all the participants with both His Hands.

After a while, Swami moved out of the dais and to everyone's surprise, He went to PC on the sofa itself. The car followed suit. Devotees on the Ladies side were thrilled and all stretched out to have glimpse of their Lord.

From the 3rd of November to the 8th of November, an Orientation Course is being held in Value Based Education for in-service teachers from various parts of India. Around 22 members are participating in this programme. The Orientation Course is being jointly conducted by the faculty of the Prasahanthinilayam and Anantapur Campuses in the College Audio Visual room and the Primary School Building respectively.

November 1st, 2005

Today happens to be a very auspicious day not just because it is Diwali but also because we finally enter into the sacred month of November which will witness the 80th Birthday Celebrations of Bhagawan Baba. Let us begin by wishing each other a very Happy Deepavali.

This morning, Swami came out for Darshan at 9.40 a.m. He came and went inside the Interview Room. He called a few people inside and after a while proceeded to the Bhajan Hall. Bhajans had started at 9.00 a.m. itself. Swami sat for a few Bhajans and left at 10:10 am and Aarti was offered at 10.30 a.m.

All of us felt sad as we could not have good Darshan on this holy day. However, Swami was very compassionate in the evening. He came out for Darshan at 3.45 p.m. He went into the Interview Room. But then, He came out at 4.45 p.m. and sat outside on the dais until 5.15 p.m. It was a wonderful Darshan for a full half an hour and all of us were filled with joy and Bliss.

These days it has become so difficult even to have a glimpse of Swami. Therefore, everybody strives to have just one glance either when He gets into the car or when He alights from the car. The best Darshan is inside the Bhajan Hall where He usually spends a lot of time. Bhajans too go on for a long time and is not restricted to half an hour any more. It all depends on Swami's arrival and exit.

As vacations are on, many students have gone home, especially because this time Diwali fell during the vacations. Those who stayed back were ready with a programme, a music programme, this evening but Swami allowed the Vedam chanting to continue when He sat outside.
