Day 2 – Tuesday, 20th July 2004

The high light of the day was a dharma specially prepared for Baba titled “God is Here”, based on divine teachings of our beloved Swami.

This programme was enjoyed by all and Swami too was very happy about the performance.

The summary of the drama is as follows:

The demon king Hiranyakasipu wanted to take revenge against Lord Vishnu for killing his brother. He performed intense austerities and got the boon from Brahma that he was not to be slain by day or night, neither indoors nor outdoors, on earth or in the sky, by God, man, or beast and not by any weapons. He conquered all three worlds and declared that he alone should be worshipped. His son Prahlada was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakasipu sent Prahlada to the Gurukulam to learn all the Sastras and arts befitting a prince.

Scene 1
Prahlada goes to see his father in his palace. Hiranyakasipu greets him with love and asks him what he has learnt. Prahlada says that Lord Narayana is the creator, protector and destroyer of everything, is all pervasive and is present in the hearts of all. Ebraged, Hiranyakasipu orders his men to subject Prahlada to innumerable ordeals. With Lord Narayana ever installed in his heart, Prahlada survives all adversities. He is sent to the Gurukulam again for more instructions.

Scene 2
Prahlada returns to the palace again and tells his father that to offer himself in devotion to Lord Narayana is the goal of his life. Incensed, Hiranyakasipu asks Prahlada where his Lord is. Prahlada replies that God is everywhere. The demon king then asks if God is present in the pillar. Prahlada replies, "He is there without doubt". Hiranyakasipu smashes the pillar and Lord Vishnu in the form of NaraSimha, half man, half lion, emerges and kills Hiranyakasipu at the threshold of the hall, without any weapons. NaraSimha blesses Prahlada.

Scene 3
Shows the relevance of the story of Prahlada in this 21st century. Hiranyakasipu is still very much alive today within us as the six inner enemies, Kama, Krodha, Loba, Moha, Matha and Matsarya. Prahlada has manifested as the five Human Values, Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa. The Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent Lord, through his infinite mercy and compassion has incarnated as our Beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Six children come as 'bad values'. Five children come as the Human Values and when they sing Hari Narayana... (Namasmarana), the 'bad values' are transformed. Prahlada appears with his father and tells him, "God is Here right in front of you. At least now surrender at the Lotus Feet of Lord Sai Narayana". Hiranyakasipu prostrates in front of Swami. The play ends with Nava Vidha Bhakti (Nine forms of devotion).

Upon the completion of the drama bhajans were recited by the bhajan group members, which again was enjoy by all.

Mr. Ajitbahi Popat give a speech on the teaching of Baba so after the dharma upon the request Swami. His message emphasized the importance of dedication and true faith on Baba. The programme concluded with Arathi.
