Swami goes to the rescue of a
devotee
This happened in the early 60s. One
day Swami was talking to Sri N. Kasturi and others on the terrace of
the previous Mandir. Suddenly Swami got up and ran forward as though
to hold someone and as He reached the parapet, someone managed to hold
Him and at that very moment He became unconscious to embark on one of
His transcorporeal journeys. After a while when Swami regained
consciousness, the devotees around Him asked Him as to the meaning of
this act. He replied in a matter of fact tone that He had gone to the
rescue of a devotee of His. Some of the elderly devotees took courage
in their age and tried to admonish swami: 'If you were to go away like
that what will happen to your body? aren't you concerned?' Swami
replied by saying, 'What use is this body of mine if it can not help
my devotees in their times of need?'
