Professor Sri Anil Kumar's
Historic Visit "Summer Showers in United Kingdom"
UKCC - May 2004
Summer Showers came early to United
Kingdom in the month of May when United Kingdom had the pleasure
of the company of Professor Sri Anil Kumar and his wife Srimati
Vijaya Lakshmi from 1st to 14th May 2004. Our Central Co-ordinator
Brother Ishver Patel lamented on his long cherished wish to
attend the Summer Showers in Brindavan and how Bhagawan had in
His infinite kindness blessed UK with this golden opportunity to
directly benefit from Professor Sri Anil Kumar's experiences
with the Divine.
During this short period that can
only be described as pure bliss, Professor Sri Anil Kumar and
his wife travelled the length and breadth of the country
spreading Swami's message and mission wherever they stopped.
Around 5,000 devotees whether living in small village hamlets or
the big cities of London, Birmingham, Bath and Leicester,
travelled many miles to listen to the Professor's talk. The
British devotees were left spell bound at Professor Sri Anil
Kumar's sheer energy and dynamism as he brilliantly orated
Swami's many leelas, guidance on spiritual trans-formation and
message on Nation Building.
One of the highlights for Professor
Sri Anil Kumar was his visit to the ancient and historic cities
of Oxford and Cambridge home of the world famous Universities
that taught scholars such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru,
Indira Gandhi and many other great Indian leaders. It had also
been a childhood wish of Professor Sri Anil Kumar's to visit
Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace and home of one of his most
favourite poets and playwrights, William Shakespeare. During his
talks to devotees Professor Sri Anil Kumar would often quote
sonnets from Shakespeare's many plays.
Professor Sri Anil Kumar has left UK
buzzing in euphoria of devotion and bliss, similar to that of
Dwaraka when Lord Chaitanya left the devotees in a
transcendental state of Krishna consciousness whilst recounting
the leelas of Sri Krishna.
God will not ask you
when and where
you did service. He
will ask, with what
motive did you do
it? What was the
intention that
prompted you? You
may weigh the
service and boast of
its quantity. But
God seeks quality -
the quality of heart,
the purity of mind,
the holiness of
motive.
